With over 2000 small wind turbine installations worldwide, the high performance Proven Turbine is the result of nearly 30 years of innovative research and development, and has become an international market leader, renowned for quality and durability. Key to its success is the unique design of the Proven blade, which adapts to the wind, optimising performance and safety even in the strongest winds.
Turbine Savings
We have calculated estimated payback figures based on the output of the turbines at wind speeds ranging from 5m/s to 8m/s. The Payback from a 15kW turbine ranges from 5-10yrs.

Our payback figures are based on selling 100% of the electricity produced and prices paid vary depending on the electricity provider you chose to sell electricity to.
On top of this payment there is also a payment for Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC’s). The ROC’s are given to the producer by the government for every 1,000kWh produced, but because the turbines are under 50kW installed capacity double ROC’s are given. This means that you get 2 certificates for each 1,000kWh of electricity produced and these ROC’s can be sold direct to power companies or through brokers.
The government has issued details of a proposed new Feed in Tariff scheme due to be intorduced in April 2010, please click here for more details.
The Benefits of Proven Energy turbines
Proven Energy turbines are robust, reliable and elegant producing energy under the harshest of conditions. The Proven Flexible Blade System enables the wind turbine to generate power in light or strong winds. Proven Energy has many years’ experience and at Ventus Green Energy can help you choose the right system for your needs. We offer a complete service, from site assessment and system design to supply, installation and maintenance.
Robust
Proven Energy provides the world’s only robust, low maintenance turbine.
Proven Energy’s internationally patented turbine has undergone extensive testing under the most rigorous of climate conditions. Their market-leading installations operate successfully throughout the world, from Antarctica to Saudi Arabia.
Unlike upwind turbines, the system works with nature and not against it. It lets you get the most out of any wind speed, helping to maximise your investment.
Design
The patented Proven Flexible Blade System enables the turbine to generate power in light or strong winds. This unique system, a combination of innovative design and the latest techniques in advanced composite technology, allows the blades to bend and flex.
As the wind gets stronger, the blades twist to reduce their aerodynamic efficiency. This lets the Proven Energy turbine maintain a high output even in the fiercest storms, unlike many turbines which need to stop generating power to protect themselves at high wind speeds. The blades also regulate their speed, preventing damage if the load from the turbine is disconnected through a power cut or electrical fault.
Low Noise
A Proven Energy turbine is designed to minimise noise and maintenance. It has a direct drive generator, which operates without a gearbox. The generator load is continuously monitored to keep the blades rotating at a low speed, whilst optimising power output.
Compared with other modern small turbines, the blade tip speed of a Proven Energy turbine is low. This means that noise is reduced substantially. All that can be heard is the swish of blades turning in the wind, which is virtually unnoticeable.
Low Maintenance
Proven Energy controllers are designed to run the system automatically and display power output from the turbine. The power connectors and turbine brake are easily accessible at the base of the mast.
There is no need for specialist skills. On installation you will receive an easy-to-follow user guide, which gives you all the information you need. We recommend regular maintenance checks for optimum performance which we can provide for you.
Assess your own windspeed
By placing an anemometer on your site you can assess the suitability of your site for wind turbines. We would recommened that you monitor your windspeed for at least 6 months to get a reasonable assessment of your site. We can provide all of the relevant equipment.

The Proven 6 is suited to a broad range of applications. It has been installed in schools, local authority buildings, agricultural small holdings, business and retail premises.
Grants and funding for installation are widely available for consumers and businesses. Generating electricity from a wind turbine helps to cut down CO2 emissions and reduces climate change levy charges.
Quick Specification
* Based on an ideal site and average wind speed of 5-8m/s
The Proven 15 is ideal for commercial applications, including agriculture, telecoms applications, small industrial units and mini wind farms.

All Proven Energy turbines are available in three standard systems, which manage the use of the electricity generated.
Grid Connection
Electricity is fed directly into your fuse box or distribution board, providing power to your premises. Any surplus electricity produced may be exported to the grid and sold to an electricity provider, depending on local regulations. Convenience and the opportunity to sell excess electricity have made this the most popular option.
Battery Charging
Energy produced by the turbine is stored in a large battery to provide a power supply. This is most beneficial in remote locations which are not connected to the grid, or which rely on a diesel / oil generator. Installing a turbine can reduce fuel consumption by up to 95% and payback for such sites can be almost immediate. There is also a positive environmental impact when fossil fuel is not used for power generation.
